New Orleans' Po' Boys

New to the black duck but a new Orleans staple since 1928. First introduced by the martin Broithers at their retaurant during a very nasty labor strike by 1800 streetcar company workers. the strikes mayhem included two murders.five streetcars burned, car barn set a blaze and tracks cemented in place. The Martin Brothers supported the strikers and offer free sandwiches out of the back door to the out of work "poor boys" for these delicious sandwiches(mostly filled with sea food because it was cheap and abundant at the time) has become an integrated part of "N'awlins" culinary history and culture.
